TracKing
TracKing is a global monitoring system which has been developed jointly by Thermo King and Celtrak. It has been specifically designed for operators of climate controlled vehicles. This new technology promises to help operators increase their fleet productivity, improve security and reduce operating costs - as well as ensuring peace of mind in the knowledge that sensitive goods are being maintained at the correct temperature throughout their journey.
Using GPS and GPRS technology linked with the refrigeration unit's microprocessor controller and Data Acquisition System (DAS), TracKing will provide real-time information on the location and status of the refrigerated trailer, including early warning of any potential problems. Out-of-range temperature alarms will automatically be transmitted via SMS to a designated mobile phone, thus giving the fleet manager time to react before any damage to the load occurs.
All asset data, including vehicle location, speed and odometer reading as well as detailed temperature information, are available over the Internet, and thus can be monitored from any computer with Internet access. Location of the trailer can be pinpointed through high-resolution mapping, and if a problem occurs, the customer will be notified of the location of the nearest Thermo King Dealer, or offered roadside assistance. Furthermore, as TracKing is a web-based system, there are no costly software programmes to learn and run.
