In simple terms, Location Based Services (LBS) are services that use geographic information to serve a mobile user. LBS gives the user the possibility of live, two way communication and interaction, giving them information that is tailored to their location, preferences and needs. From weather reports to route navigation or just choosing a restaurant in a specific area at a specific time, LBS offers the consumer on demand interaction and information through their mobile phones.
