O2 & Celtrak Build Security System for Coffey Construction
26/06/2006
Coffey Construction has installed a Celtrak security system that monitors site equipment using O2's GPRS technology 24 hours a day over the Internet. The PlantEye system can withstand harsh weather environments and is small enough to be installed on large size plant equipment but is still hidden from the naked eye.
The solution implemented by Celtrak using the O2 network means that the Site Manager of the premises can view equipment on unmanned construction sites either remotely over his/her mobile phone or via the Web. By connecting to the construction site office over the O2 network the Site Manager can see the plant equipment and security status of the site at any time of the day or night from anywhere in the world. Coffey Construction is a leading service provider in the Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering Industry.
Ger Fahy, Director, Coffey Construction explains, "Much of our plant equipment is valuable so a 24-hour monitoring system is vital for us. We have had high success in controlling assets and recovering misplaced plant equipment with this security solution."
Helen McBreen, Product Manager, Celtrak adds, "We specialise in providing end-to-end telematic solutions and were able to design and manufacture a unit that could withstand the harsh weather conditions that plant equipment is exposed to on a daily basis. The 24-hour security system was installed successfully and is continuously monitoring assets in real-time."
Liz Caughey, Wholesale Data Manager, O2 Ireland comments, "Security is a major concern for small businesses and this solution provides a comfort that the premises is safe and equipment can be viewed any time from anywhere."
